Troubleshooting: Heston 60 sound dull/weird/bad

Short answer

Check that you have the right sound mode selected. Push the sound mode button to toggle the sound modes.

Check that you have the right sound mode selected

Push the sound mode button to toggle the sound modes.

  • Music: The Marshall signature sound, perfectly balanced and tuned. The best way to enjoy music.

  • Movie: Big screen immersive sound with full spatial clarity for watching your favourite films.

  • Night: Lowers loud sounds while keeping the softer details clear, perfect for late night viewing that won’t disturb others.

  • Voice: Makes dialogue crystal clear, great for when you don’t want to miss a word.

Audio settings

Check the audio settings in the Marshall app.

Placement

Make sure that Heston 60 has at least 15 cm of clearance above and on each side, and that nothing is obstructing the sound.

Check that the orientation (on a surface or mounted to a wall) of the soundbar is correct in the Marshall app.

Room correction

Every room has a unique sonic quality that depends on the room size, material, how it is furnished, and where the speaker is placed. Heston 60 comes with a room correction feature that adjusts for these differences for you to make the most of your space with a perfect musical fit.

Factory reset

A factory reset will reset the soundbar to its original settings, excluding any firmware updates.

Note: This will delete all settings, Playlists, Wi-Fi and Heston 60 will need to be set up again.

  1. Remove Heston 60 from the app and Heston 60, and Heston 60 [LE] if present, from your sound device’s Bluetooth list.

  2. Ensure that the soundbar is connected to mains power.

  3. Push Source control until all LEDs blink and the soundbar restarts.

  4. Heston 60 has returned to its factory settings and is ready to be paired.
