Troubleshooting: Speakers Switching or Dropping Connection

Short answer

Open the Bluetooth menu on the device connected to the speaker and remove the standard Bluetooth connection for the speaker. Keep the [LE] connection, this is required for the app to function.

Follow these steps if your speakers are switching connection, dropping audio, or going silent:

  • Open the Bluetooth menu on the device connected to the speaker.

  • Remove the standard Bluetooth connection for the speaker.

  • Keep the [LE] connection, this is required for the app to function.

Why this problem can occur

Auracast is the technology Heddon uses to broadcast audio to multiple speakers simultaneously. The standard Bluetooth connection is used to play music on a single speaker. Depending on the audio source, these two technologies can sometimes conflict, causing one speaker to play via standard Bluetooth while others play via Auracast, which can result in speakers cutting out or switching unexpectedly.
