Troubleshooting : Bluetooth connection drops out

Short answer

Move the devices closer to each other so that they are unobstructed by obstacles such as walls or doors. Move the speaker to another spot or turn off or move the interfering electronic device.

The power and bluetooth button on top of a black Marshall Middleton II speaker.

Move the speaker

  • Move the speaker and audio device closer to each other. They need to be within 10 metres and unobstructed by obstacles such as walls and doors.

  • Move the speaker further away from electrical devices that use the same frequency range. Such as microwave ovens, wireless network adapters and fluorescent lights.

Resetting the speaker

A factory reset will reset the speaker to its original settings, excluding any firmware updates.

Note: This will delete all user settings and the speaker will need to be set up again.

  • Remove Middleton II, and Middleton II [LE] if present, from your sound device’s Bluetooth list.

  • Ensure that the speaker is on.

  • Push and hold the Bluetooth button until the Bluetooth indicator turns quickly red, and the speaker restarts.

  • The speaker has returned to its factory settings and is ready to be paired, see the article Getting started.
