Troubleshooting: Marshall JMP Synergy Preamp Module

Try this first – basic troubleshooting steps

Before checking specific issues, start with these quick steps:

  • Check all guitar and speaker cables.

  • If possible, swap with another cable or guitar.

  • Test your amp without any effects pedals in the chain.

Module does not fit or is difficult to insert

Loosen the 4 screws on the front of the module bay by turning them ¼ turn counter‑clockwise.

No output

  • Make sure the Volume knobs on both the Module and your Synergy hardware are turned up.

  • Check the volume controls on any other devices in your signal chain.

Noise, static, or interference

  • Check all cables, and replace any that might be faulty.

  • Move your Synergy hardware, amplifier, and speakers to a different location.

  • Keep mobile phones and other electronic devices further away from your Synergy hardware.

Module was working, then stopped

If the module suddenly stops working, please contact Synergy's Support Team and they will help you get it sorted.

No lights after inserting module
